I think W. Edwards Deming almost said it best: "Without data you're just another person with an opinion." These days I would amend his quote to say "Without quality data you're just another person with an opinion." If the internet and smart phones have given us anything it's data. Constant, streaming, multi-source and real-time mountains of data. Now the challenge is not having the data; it is having the right data. Quality data. What is quality data? I would define it as relevant, reliable, and actionable. I enjoy using my Data Analyst skillsets to bring relevance to disorganized raw data. I love the challenge of taking complex and disparate data sources and building reliable methods for gathering, updating and combining them in repeatable, reliable structures. I find it very rewarding to be able to be able to build interactive tools to gain fundamental truths about what the data represents and provide actionable insights quickly and easily. Most of all I enjoy sharing insights, ideas and experience with others!
